Dr. R. "Jamie" Spicer completed his undergraduate studies at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN, and went on to get his Masters in Science in Biology from Tennessee State University. He obtained his M.D. from the Meharry Medical College. Next, he completed his Internal Medicine Internship at East Tennessee State University,
James H. Quillen College of Medicine,
Johnson City, TN. Then, from 2006 to 2009, he completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at
UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Finally, he finished his Fellowship in Interventional Spine, Sports & Musculoskeletal Medicine at the University of Florida, Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation in Gainesville, FL.
Dr. Spicer's interests includes a variety of athletics. As an undergraduate he played football at the collegiate sports level at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. Upon graduation, he then played football for a year with the Nurnberg Rams in Nurnberg, Germany.
Dr. Spicer is very interested in exercise and fitness. On weekends he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family: his wife, Benita, and son, Caleb.
