Pain Management

Pain is a symptom, and everyone has a different tolerance for pain. Our pain management doctors work one-on-one with patients to diagnose the cause of their pain while controlling the symptoms. Our patients tend to function better, sleep better, and enjoy life better when their pain is under control.

Diagnosing chronic pain can be difficult. At Tarpon Orthopedics, we may use electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), or a nerve block to diagnose certain types of pain. We also rely on patients for a description of their pain in terms of intensity, frequency, and duration. Our goal is to make an accurate diagnosis so we can develop an effective treatment plan.

A combination of physical therapy, pain medicine, and interventional pain treatments works well for most patients, but treatment is highly individualized. We offer a host of pain treatments, including injections for pain. If you experience pain that doesn’t go away for three months or more, you may have a chronic pain condition. Chronic pain can take a toll on your physical, mental, and emotional health.
